Jai Taylor
Age: 17
Hometown: Sunshine Coast, QLD
Currently ranked 5th on the IBC World Tour and crowned 2024 Rookie of the Year, Jai Taylor is one of Australia’s most promising young bodyboarders. His rise through the ranks has been nothing short of impressive, with his biggest career highlight so far being his victory at the Maldives Pro Junior—his first-ever overseas World Tour event. Before making waves internationally, Jai dominated the Australian junior scene, securing the 2023 Junior Australian Title and the 2022 Cadets Australian Title.
When it comes to favorite waves, Jai is all about the perfect barrels of Echo Beach, Bali, but his dream is to take on the heavy slabs of Mandurah Wedge. He looks up to legends like Lewy Finnegan, Mitch Rawlins, and Ryan Hardy, whose aggressive yet stylish approach to bodyboarding has shaped his own riding style.
Outside of the water, Jai is all about pushing his limits—whether it's hitting the gym, surfing, or tinkering with his Land Cruiser.
With his eyes set on becoming the Junior World Champion in 2025, Jai is all in. Let’s go.
